Peaks to Prairie Animal Care is the realization of Dr. Mandy Barnes’ lifelong passion for animals and commitment to providing exceptional veterinary care. Dr. Barnes, a Montana native, completed her Bachelor of Science from Montana State University before earning her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Washington State University. With nearly two decades of experience working in clinics across the Billings area, she brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her practice.

As a mother of three and an animal lover who grew up with horses, Dr. Barnes understands the deep bond between pets and their families. She enjoys riding horses, hiking, fishing, hunting, and spending time with friends, fully embracing the Montana lifestyle. Her Boxer, Spartan, and three cats—Eggbert, Fearless, and Stinky Cheese—are cherished members of her family.

Dr. Barnes is known for her outgoing, driven, and compassionate nature. She founded Peaks to Prairie Animal Care to bridge the gap in veterinary care for underserved communities in Laurel, Joliet, and Bridger. By bringing a fully-equipped mobile clinic to these areas, she ensures that pets receive the highest quality of care without the hassle of traveling long distances.
